Abstract
This research is part of a very specific object of study: to know the communicative treatment offered by the Latin American press of Morocco and in it the representations that it builds of this African country are analyzed. The present work proposes an exploratory and descriptive investigation of the totality of the results obtained from a comparative and specific investigation on the informative publications of Morocco in the Latin American press. In order to know how the image of Morocco is represented in the Latin American press, we will base ourselves mainly on the tools of content analysis, through the journalistic texts that make up the corpus. The study focuses on the three newspapers of great historical significance in Latin America: El Universal (Mexico); Clarín (Argentina); EL Mercurio (Chile), during the period from January 2010 to December 2020. The comparative analysis shows that the newspapers analyzed, although there were certain differences in news coverage, all agreed to offer their readers poor information about Morocco. A second relevant finding that needs to be highlighted is that the Latin American newspapers studied make abusive use of European news agencies.
