Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the impact of graphomotor activities on the sensory development of children aged 24 to 36 months with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), within the CNH "Mis Ternuritas" program, located in the community of Río Caña, Manabí. The aim was to evaluate how these activities influence fine motor skills and sensory processing in order to establish effective therapeutic intervention strategies for this population. A quasi-experimental design was employed with two intervention groups: an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 20 children diagnosed with ASD. The experimental group participated in a structured program of graphomotor activities for 12 weeks, while the control group continued with the standard intervention. Pre- and post-intervention assessments were conducted, along with a follow-up evaluation three months later to measure progress in sensory development and fine motor skills. The results showed significant improvements in the experimental group, confirming that the implementation of graphomotor activities has a positive influence on sensory development, contributing to the overall development of children with ASD. This study was carried out in a community context where, since 2015, the “Creciendo con Nuestros Hijos” (CNH) program has been promoted to provide comprehensive early childhood care. Currently, the CNH "Mis Ternuritas" program serves 45 users, including pregnant women, children aged 0 to 18 months, and children aged 18 to 36 months, who participate in group activities alongside their families to support their overall development.
