Abstract
Quality control is a set of actions and procedures that must be applied in clinical laboratories in order to certify the veracity of the clinical results obtained in the analysis of the samples obtained, fulfilling the objective of specifying the quality standards of clinical laboratory services, through the analysis of the ISO 15189 standard. A survey was applied to 32 laboratory technicians through a non-probabilistic intentional sampling of participants who had experience associated with the standard. The instrument denoted an acceptable reliability (? = 0.954 - 26 items). The results in clinical laboratories significantly improved the quality of clinical diagnosis, increased the accuracy and reliability of the results, positively impacting patient safety and satisfaction. Notable improvements were observed in risk management and the use of quality metrics, highlighting the importance of continuous evaluation and training on quality standards. The results of the study highlight that effective implementation of quality management systems is essential to meet international standards and continuously improve the quality of services provided, as well as the need for commitment to continuing education and recognition of quality standards to maintain and improve the quality of laboratory services.
