Abstract

In this research work, I seek to establish as clearly as possible the difference between the concepts of nationality and citizenship; making it clear that nationality is the legal-political, which unites an individual with a certain link; and citizenship is the quality that makes the person an active member of the State and that enables him to exercise political rights, the most important of these being the right to vote. For this, reference will be made exclusively to nationality, analyzing its concept, its historical evolution, its principles, making clear the importance of nationality as a connecting element, to facilitate the resolution of conflicts that may arise between the parties. in private international law. Finally, reference is made to Private International Law in a general way, in which we study its importance, object, nature, etc. In my opinion, this will allow us to have a clearer idea of ??what Private International Law is and what it pursues, helping us to understand the importance of nationality as part of this matter.
