In Brazil, the disputes about legal lands claims and boundaries of quilombola and indigenous territories trigger ethnic-racial questions that have been circumvented in studies focused on the rural environment. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to articulate concepts of coloniality and racialization in the approach these conflicts. We intend to understand the dimensions of power relations at stake. It also aims to analyze how the emergence of quilombolas as political subjects introduces new meanings to the strive for lands; and influences the dynamics of social struggles in the countryside, based on data from a survey conducted in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
Adriane Benedetti Copyright (c) http://revistapacha.religacion.com/index.php/about/article/view/32 Apresentação do dossiê.
LARISSA DULCE ANTUNES Copyright (c) http://revistapacha.religacion.com/index.php/about/article/view/29
