Controversial for the left, it is still possible to hear rumors about his figure, such as that he was an agent of imperialism or that he was a counterrevolutionary militant who tried to take power through a coup in the Soviet Union. These rumors were replaced by the total lack of documentation, thus, decade after decade other hypotheses were unveiled, a Trotsky who played a fundamental role in keeping the flame of Marxism alive as a revolutionary theory, in the face of the Stalinist bureaucratization process of the Soviet Union.

With the foundation of the IV International, this process acquired an organic form, to the extent that it materialized in the attempt to articulate, despite the awareness of the small size and difficulties of this effort, of an organization in several countries and of a political platform, the Transition Program.

However, the fate of the Fourth International, in the face of the growth of fascism and on the eve of the Second World War, was dispersion. After the war ended, most of the sectors that claimed the legacy of Trotsky and the Fourth International oriented their actions towards a policy of approximation to Stalinism and integration with bourgeois politics.

This thematic number intends to bring together works that discuss Trotskyism as part of the anti-imperialist struggle and the organization of today's workers. In this sense, the reflections that are discussed are welcome:

Permanent and arrested revolution

Trotsky, freedom of art and artistic avant-gardes

The Global South and uneven and combined development

Fascism, bonapartism and counter-revolution

Trotskyism and its political organizations.

Reflections on other topics that discuss Trotskyist theory and its history in different regions of the world will also be accepted, seeking to update the debate on its relevance and permanence in contemporary times.

Coordinator

Michel Goulart da Silva

Instituto Federal Catarinense
http://revistapacha.religacion.com/index.php/about/announcement/view/3 Wed, 13 May 2020 01:25:06 +0000 Call for papers: Permanent Call For Papers http://revistapacha.religacion.com/index.php/about/announcement/view/2
PACHA.
